2 motorcyclists serious after head-on

Police are appealing for witnesses following a head-on collision  involving two motorcyclists.

At about 11.50pm, on Monday (18 May), both motorcyclists were travelling in opposite directions on the A422 near Deanshanger.

Rider one, a 45-year-old man, on a black Harley Davidson, was travelling from the direction of Old Stratford.

Rider two, a man from Milton Keynes, on a blue Yamaha R1, was travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision both riders received life threatening injuries and were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Officers investigating the collision would particularly like to speak to the driver of a white car which may have been in the area at the time of the incident. While it is not believed they were involved in the collision, they could have vital information about what happened.

Anyone that witnessed the collision or has any information is requested to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, Northamptonshire Police on 101, or call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615
