Training for new paramedics delayed

The East of England Ambulance Service -which covers Peterborough and Cambridgeshire- says it’s disappointed paramedic training courses at two universiities have failed to win official approval.

The Health and Care Professions Council says more work needs to be done by both the University of East Anglia and Anglia Ruskin University to bring them up to the required standard.

It’s claimed many paramedics may not now qualify until next year.
