Patrols are being stepped up in Corby to try and catch people not clearing up after their dogs.
It’s all part of the council’s latest crackdown on the problem of fouling.
Corby Borough Council s Lead Member for the Environment, Cllr Mark Pengelly, said:
Dog faeces is not only extremely unpleasant but it is also a major risk to health, particularly to children who are playing in these open spaces. It may cause infections in the body, lead to headaches, nausea and even blindness, so it is important that dog owners are responsible in ensuring it is cleared away.
We know that the majority of dog owners in Corby are responsible and do clean up after their pets but those that don t need reminded that it is just not acceptable. Everyone should be able to enjoy our green areas and therefore we need to keep them clean.
