Rural crime falls

Figures show there`s been a fall in rural crime across the Connect FM area.

Research from NFU Mutual reveals £440 ,000 worth of items like tractors and farm machinery were stolen in the county in 2014 compared to £880,000 the year before.

Across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, the figure was more than £1,500,000, compared to almost £2.5m the year before.

However, despite the drop, thieves continue to target expensive agricultural equipment and the area remains one of the country`s worst affected.
