Rushden and Diamonds have won their appeal against a ban on them retiring their goalkeeper’s shirt.
The club wanted to stop using the Number One in memory of Dale Roberts who took his own life.
The FA has overuled the Southern League and given them special dispensation to use a different number – but only for the rest of this season.
The club says it’s grateful to both the Southern Football League and the Football Association as well as the members, supporters and the whole footballing community.
All monies raised to cover any potential fines will be donated to the Dale Roberts Memorial Fund.
