New figures have been released showing the scale and cost of clearing up flytipping in parts of the Connect FM area.
Statistics compiled by the Press Association suggest local taxpayers are footing a growing bill to get rid of illegally-dumped waste.
In Northamptonshire in the past three years, the cost has shot up from £134,000 to £164,000.
The County Council specified its costs were for disposing fly tips collected by the district and borough councils.
Peterborough City Council hasn’t revealed the cost to its local taxpayers but there have been more than 5,000 incidents in the past year.
It also says it’s prosecuted 10 people in the last 12 months.
