Fire crews carry out rescues

A man’s been rescued from a flat fire in Peterborough.

The blaze broke out in Wilberforce Road, New England last night.

The man was given oxygen by emergency crews before being taken to hospital suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke and burns.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Meanwhile, fire crews have cut two people free following a crash on the A15.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision between Glinton and Werrington.
