Police have confirmed one fatality following a two-vehicle collision on the A47 in Peterborough this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on the A47 at Bretton Gate, near to Peterborough City Hospital (PCH) at just after 11am this morning. This followed reports of a red car driving the wrong way along the A47.
A red Daihatsu Charade and a silver Honda Jazz collided, killing the driver of the Charade, an elderly woman from the Peterborough area.
The driver of the Jazz, a woman in her 40s, also from the Peterborough area, suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to PCH where she remains.
