Peterborough Energy is pushing ahead an dlooking towards signing its 1,000th customer.
The City Council scheme has seen residents save an average of £230 pounds each.
Now, the local authority’s brought in an incentive scheme to encourage more people to join.
Number 1,000 will win £230 worth of Queensgate shopping centre vouchers.
The council has joined forces with OVO Energy, an award-winning energy supplier, at the start of the summer.
So far, more than 750 households have switched to pay monthly fixed and variable Peterborough Energy tariffs.
Councillor John Holdich, Leader of Peterborough City Council, told Connect FM:
“With winter just around the corner, now is a great opportunity to make a switch allowing enough time to change your energy provider and then start saving money for the Christmas period.”
