Village shopkeeper threatened and robbed

The owner of a village store near Oundle has been threatened with what’s believed to have been a baseball bat during a robbery.

Hundreds of pounds of cigarettes were stolen in the incident at Glebe Stores and Post Office on Hautboy LaneĀ in Warmington in the early hours of Friday. (6 November).

The robbery happened at the shop in Hautboy Lane, at about 3.45am.

The offender/s broke in through the front door, threatened the owners with a weapon and stole cigarettes. They left the shop and made their escape in a vehicle.

One of the offenders is described as a white man, 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in, with a stocky build. He was wearing a black zipped top, black tracksuit bottoms and a black balaclava. He spoke English with no obvious accent and it is believed he was carrying a baseball bat.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area around the time of the robbery or saw a car driving away is asked to contact police.
