Schools need to do more to make pupils work ready

The head of the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce says urgent work needs to be done to get school pupils in a position to get a job.

Chief Executive John Bridge says what they really need are the practical skills necessary, such as communication and literacy.

Earlier this week, a study showed two-thirds of businesses believe that secondary schools aren’t effective at preparing young people for work.
