Police are investigating a serious assault in Peterborough and have released a picture of a man they want to trace in connection with the incident.
A 21-year-old man was attacked in the street with a broken bottle and left with serious head injuries at about 6.30am on Saturday (December 5) in Oxford Road, Millfield.
The victim was taken to Peterborough City Hospital where he was treated for multiple head wounds.
An area of Oxford Road was cordoned off and the road was closed for a short while as officers carried out inquiries.
Today, detectives have released an image of Daniel Kilroy, 24, from Peterborough, who they want to speak to about the attack.
DC Nina Bartlett, who is investigating, described the attack as “vicious” but said it was being treated as an isolated incident.
She told Connect FM: “Thankfully, the victim is now recovering at home but this could have been more serious, given the violence of the attack.
“I would urge anyone with any information about the attack or knows the whereabouts of Mr Kilroy to contact police.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Bartlett on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
