NHS Trusts funding ‘Black Hole’

Local NHS Trusts are expected to contribute to a £2.2 billion deficit – likely to be run up this year.

The National Audit Office is warning of a spending black hole in the health service.

The government is promising to increase NHS spending by £8.4 billion by 2020, but the NAO says it is not clear there’s a “coherent plan” to get finances back on track.
