Changes to a few East Midlands Trains services

There will be some changes to East Midlands Trains services on some routes today due to a short term issue with driver availability.  The majority of services will continue to run as planned.  However, customers are strongly advised to check the timetable before travel as some services will not operate.

Train Service Summary:

 

A normal train service will be running on the following routes:

Derby to/from Crewe

Nottingham to/from Mansfield


A revised timetable will be running on our London route. The following trains will be cancelled:

Southbound services

0729     Nottingham to London St Pancras International

0754     Derby to London St Pancras International

1434     Leeds to London St Pancras International

1657     Derby to London St Pancras International

1845     Nottingham to London St Pancras International

Northbound services

0930     London St Pancras International to Sheffield

1020     Leicester to Sheffield

1030     London St Pancras International to Sheffield

1440     London St Pancras International to Leeds

1705     London St Pancras International to Nottingham

1805     London St Pancras International to Nottingham

1905     London St Pancras International to Nottingham

1940     London St Pancras International to Derby

Our 0900 London St Pancras International to Nottingham will now run as scheduled.  

The following services will be revised:

Northbound services

1100 London St Pancras International to Nottingham will not call at Nottingham but will additionally call at Long Eaton and Derby  

1130 London St Pancras International to Sheffield will terminate at Derby and not call Chesterfield and Sheffield

2130 London St Pancras International to Sheffield will terminate at Derby and not call Chesterfield and Sheffield

Southbound services

0950 Leeds to London St Pancras International will start at Nottingham at 1139. It will not call at Leeds, Wakefield Westgate, Sheffield, Chesterfield

1449 Sheffield to London St Pancras International will start at Derby and not call at Sheffield or Chesterfield

1847 Sheffield to London St Pancras International will start at Derby and not call at Sheffield or Chesterfield

If you have booked to travel from London before 1300 please be advised that services are expected to be busier than normal. You may find that more seats will be available for a more comfortable journey on services from 1300 onwards.

A revised timetable will be running on some of our local routes and buses may replace trains, see below for full service information;

Nottingham to Skegness

The following trains will be cancelled and will be replaced by buses:

1456     Nottingham to Skegness

1807     Skegness to Nottingham

Nottingham to Lincoln

The following trains will be cancelled and will be replaced by buses:

1836     Nottingham to Lincoln

2005     Lincoln to Nottingham

The following trains will be revised:

2228 Nottingham to Lincoln will not call at Newark Northgate and will depart Newark Castle 13 minutes later at 2316. It will then run as scheduled to Lincoln. A rail replacement bus will depart Newark Castle at  2313 arriving at Newark North Gate 2319.

Liverpool to Norwich

 The following trains will be cancelled;

1240     Nottingham to Liverpool, the next available train will depart Nottingham at 1342.

1754     Norwich to Nottingham, the next available train will depart Norwich at 1856.

The following trains will be revised

1241 Sheffield to Norwich will terminate at Nottingham and will not call at stations between Nottingham and Norwich

1453 Norwich to Liverpool will terminate at Nottingham and not call at stations between Nottingham and Liverpool

1552 Liverpool to Norwich will start at Nottingham and not call at stations between Liverpool and Nottingham

2121 Liverpool to Nottingham will start at Warrington Central and not call at stations between Liverpool and Warrington Central

Lincoln to/from Newark North Gate

A limited train service will run and the following trains will be cancelled and replaced by buses:

1710     Lincoln to Newark North Gate

1756     Newark North Gate to Lincoln

2126     Lincoln to Newark North Gate

2210     Newark North Gate to Lincoln

2302     Newark North Gate to Lincoln – This train will run from Newark Castle at 2313. A rail replacement bus will run from Newark North Gate at 2302 to connect with the 2313 train from Newark Castle.

te and will depart Newark Castle 13 minutes later at 2316. It will then run as scheduled to Lincoln. A rail replacement bus will depart Newark Castle at  2313 arriving at Newark North Gate 2319.

Nottingham to/from Matlock

A limited train service will run and the following trains will be cancelled and replaced by buses:

1614 Derby to Nottingham

2038 Matlock to Nottingham

2218 Derby to Nottingham

1422 Nottingham to Derby

1623 Nottingham to Derby

1922 Nottingham to Matlock

2020 Nottingham to Derby

The following trains will be revised and part of your journey will need to be made by replacement buses

1838 Matlock to Nottingham, a bus will run between Matlock and Derby, the train will start from Derby at 1914

1722 Nottingham to Matlock will terminate at Derby, a bus will run between Derby and Matlock and depart Derby at 1801.

A spokesperson for East Midlands Trains said: “We are very sorry for the inconvenience that some customers may experience when travelling with us this Sunday”.

“Due to a short term issue with driver availability, we are unable to run our full Sunday timetable.  We have worked hard to provide as many services as possible and we will be providing extra carriages on the trains that are running”.

“We will also be running replacement bus services on some of the routes where we cannot operate train services and will be arranging for other train operators to accept our tickets.  Extra staff will be on hand at stations throughout the day to help customers with their journeys”.

The following Train Operators are accepting East Midlands Trains customers:

  • Virgin Trains East Coast (for trains to Grantham and Doncaster, to connect to trains for Nottingham and Sheffield.)
  • Northern (for trains in South Yorkshire and the North West)
  • TransPennine Express (for trains between Sheffield – Manchester and Liverpool.)
  • Greater Anglia (for trains in East Anglia)

Customer advice:

  • Customers with a pre-booked East Midlands Trains ticket who decide not to travel on Sunday 27 December will be able to claim a full refund on their ticket. Click here for refund information
  • Customers with advance purchase tickets can travel on other services than booked.
  • Customers who decide not to travel on Sunday 27 December may use their tickets for travel on Monday 28 December
