Motorists are being warned of long delays on the A508 north of Northampton which have caused severe congestion at peak times during this week.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the route if possible or allow extra time for journeys while the works take place near the busy Boughton roundabout.
The junction is currently under round-the-clock four-way traffic signals as a utility contractor installs infrastructure into the new Buckton Fields development.
The traffic lights will be manually operated until the work is due for completion late on Saturday, January 9. This will mean lights can be regulated to allow for changes in traffic flow from different directions throughout the day.
