Man hurt in unprovoked attack

A man’s been beaten up in an apparently unprovoked attack in Rushden.

The 31-year-old man was approached by a group of six or seven men who asked the victim for a cigarette before assaulting him and making off.

The victim, who was walking in the direction of Wellingborough Road when the incident took place, was left with cuts and bruises to his face.

The assault took place at some point between 10.40pm and 11pm on Friday, 29 January.

The offenders were all white men, aged in their early 20s and had local accents. All wore dark coloured clothing.
