Steel protest takes place

Steel workers form Northamptonshire are expected to join hundreds of their colleagues from across the UK at a huge demonstration in Brussels today.

They want the European Commission to urgently tackle cheap Chinese steel being “dumped” across Europe.

The chief executive of Tata Steel’s European operations will march alongside workers from his company’s plants in the UK.

Hundreds of jobs are being axed at Port Talbot in south Wales.

The government says it’s working “tirelessly” to help the industry.
