Patients could be banned from GP lists

Patients in the east of England – including Peterborough and Cambridgeshire- who go five years without visiting their doctor could be banned from their surgery.

Under the plan, they’ll be removed from the GP practice list if they don’t respond to two letters asking them if they still wish to be registered.

The move is aimed at cutting NHS costs, with GPs are paid for every patient on their list.
