Paston Parkway scheme to start in May

Work to ease congestion on a busy road in Peterborough is due to get underway in May.

The City Council has been awarded £5 million funding from the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership to make the capacity improvements at the junction that provides interchange links to the A1, A1073, A47, A605, A15 and A16.

The work comes with further housing planned at the nearby Norwood and Paston Reserve development sites.

The number of lanes approaching and on the roundabout will be increased and full traffic light signalisation put in place.

The work will also include the installation of LED street lighting and carriageway resurfacing with a reduced noise surface material.

Preparations, including vegetation clearance, to enable construction works to start is taking place during March.
