Figures show the number of babies dying suddenly and unexpectedly from sleeping next to their parents in Northamptonshire is above the national average.
This week is Safer Sleep Week, a national campaign run by the Lullaby Trust, aimed at encouraging parents and carers of young babies to know the importance of safer sleep and how to reduce the chance of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Health leaders at NHS Nene and NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Groups are taking the opportunity during this campaign week to remind those caring for young babies of the important messages set out in the campaign.
Over 10,000 leaflets have been issued to midwives and health visitors across the county s two hospitals and information has been provided to GP surgeries and children s centres.
