A man`s been attacked with a cricket bat in an apparent road rage incident on the A14 between Rothwell and Kettering.

The driver of a BMW was allegedly driving very close behind the victim in a Mercedes and gesturing him to pull over.

The BMW then pulled in front of the Mercedes causing him to swerve onto the grass verge.

Both men got out of their cars and as the Mercedes driver walked away he was allegedly hit on the back of his legs with the cricket bat causing him to fall.

The offender is described as white, about 30-years-old, 6ft 5in, with a stocky, athletic build. He had short, dark brown hair and a beard, and was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The BMW had a 2015 plate.
