Trust reports massive surge in 99 calls

The East of England Ambulance Service has reported a massive surge in calls in the past month.

Across the region, the number of people ringing 999 in March was up 21% to over 98,000.

In Peterborough and across Cambridgeshire the increase was 27%. That’s the highest across the Trust.

The most common calls were for falls and patients with breathing difficulties and chest pain.

Hertfordshire: 15,392 (13,616)  13.04%

Suffolk: 11,882 (9,898)  20.04%
