Apology after leaflet mix up

Royal Mail has apologised after some police and crime commissioner campaign literature in Northamptonshire was delivered inside a government EU referendum leaflet.

UKIP candidate Sam Watts says residents have told him  leaflets for the Conservative Stephen Mold were delivered within a much-talked about government EU referendum leaflet which, he claims, could give the impression Mister Mold has government endorsement.

Mr Mold says he wasn`t aware they`d be delivered on the same day and Royal Mail says staff have been spoken to.

The other candidate in May’s election is Labour’s Kevin McKeever.
