A man`s been jailed at Peterborough Magistrates Court after admitting a £31,000 benefit fraud.
66 year old Amin Mutyaba of Buttsgrove Way in Huntingdon was given 8 months and ordered to repay the money he was overpaid.
He was prosecuted following an investigation by Huntingdonshire District Council and the Department for Work and Pensions.
Mutyaba pleaded guilty to five charges of benefit fraud between August 2011 and December 2014.
He’d claimed benefit at his shared ownership property, stating he was a single person, but was actually subletting part of his home.
An investigation showed that 50 different people were linked to the address between 2008 and 2014.
