Poppy seller attacker convicted

A man`s been given an 18 month conditional discharge and fined 115 pounds after he was convicted of assaulting a poppy seller in Peterborough.

33 year old Tony Woodward of no fixed address saw charity workers put the collection boxes in the boot of a car on Bridge Street last November.

One of them then confronted Woodward when he noticed he was trying to open the boot but he was attacked.
