Young patients visiting the Amazon Children s Ward at Peterborough City Hospital will now benefit from a newly refurbished sensory room thanks to generous donations from local businesses, families of patients, and staff fundraising efforts.
Donations have enabled the ward to buy new fibre optic strand lights, soft mats for the floors and a projector that casts colourful child-friendly images on the walls.
The ward team were also able to purchase an interactive bubble tube.
Children can often feel anxious about being in hospital and the sensory room can help relieve their fears and anxieties. The new equipment will create an interactive and stimulating environment that offers a distraction for children visiting the hospital.
