Plans to make the shared role of chief executive of Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council permanent are to be discussed later this month.
Gillian Beasley has held both positions since November which she`s doing for a trial period of a year.
Officials say the move would continue to deliver annual savings of £110,000 for the city council.
There are no plans to re-introduce the deputy chief executive role at the city council.
