Devolution deal gets go ahead

Peterborough City Council has agreed to push ahead with plans for East Anglian Devolution.

Councillors voted 48 to 7 in favour of the proposal with one abstention.

They’ve also agreed to make permanent the deal to share a chief executive with Cambridgeshire County Council.

It’s the first such agreement in the UK.

The proposals will now go out to public consultation.
