Northamptonshire Police are continuing to urge people to report so-called hate crimes in light of recent national and international events.
The force says there`s been a slight rise in the number of offences reported in the county in the last month.
Between July 4 and 10, there were 15 hate crimes and 21 hate incidents recorded in Northamptonshire. They include racist, homophobic and disablist incidents. Two incidents were also reported to the national reporting website True Vision.
Examples include the shouting of abuse and criminal damage as well asthe posting of comments online and offensive comments being made to people.
Victims, witnesses and those feeling vulnerable should report any incident of hate to us on 101 or use the True Vision website (www.report-it.org.uk). You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always dial 999.
