Police are appealing for information after a man in his 70s was assaulted close to a petrol station in Corby.

The victim is said to have been punched twice in the face by a male in a grey people carrier on the road close to the Asda petrol station at the Asda Phoenix Parkway car park.

The assault, in which the victim suffered bruising to his lip, happened between 3pm and 3.20pm on Wednesday, July 27.

The offender is described as having worn a green, hooded top. He also had a roll-up cigarette in his mouth.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 111 555.
