The highs and lows of Rio

A mistake from Peterborough’s Louis Smith cost Team GB’s men’s gymnasts a medal in the team final at the Rio Olympics.

In contention for a podium place going into the final rotation – the London 2012 silver medallist came off the pommel horse – his specialist event.

They finished fourth.

Team GB’s Tom Daley says he’s even more focused on winning gold at the Rio Olympics.

Last night, he and Cambridgeshire’s Dan Goodfellow took bronze in the synchronised diving.

Daley competes in the individual event later in the Games.

Meanwhile, Dan’s mum Sharon has mixed emotions.

She’s over the moon he won the medal but she’s gone on Twitter to say she’s not happy her son’s been cropped out of a lot of the photos in today’s newspapers!
