WIN a set of the Fred ‘n’ Friends books below!

Not long ago, local author Angela O’Donnell brought Fred the Dacshund in to the studio to meet Mark and Liz and we ALL fell in love with him {Fred not Mark}. Fred ‘n’ Friends is a series of children’s books about the cheekily naughty sausage dog and Angela and Fred have been on a local library tour. Here’s their tour dog blog!

Friday/Day Three

9:55: The sun was out this morning as we arrived at Thrapston library and everyone there was certainly in a ‘summer holiday’ mood! Fred jumped down from the seat (with some help of course) and we went inside to meet everyone. It was a great hour and we spent time reading through the Fred’N’Friends books and answering questions. Fred was the star of the show as usual, with people forming a queue to meet/stroke him.

11:20: Raunds was up next and it was great to see so many happy faces around the library. The children of Raunds certainly ask a lot of questions, which Fred happily answered .. we spent the rest of the time here going through the books and helping each other colour in.

13:00: After our lunch we made our way to Rushden, here we spent time with the local children and set up a little games area for us all to have a little play which as you can imagine was very quiet and peaceful … l

14:10: Carrying on through the afternoon, we visited Irchester next and Fred loved exploring, maybe a little too much, but he ‘finally’ came back and we all read through the books answering questions from the audience.

15:20  Wellingborough was our last stop of the day and Fred wasn’t showing any signs of tiredness. The queues of people wanting to meet Fred was great and he certainly had a warm Wellingborough welcome! After the book reading, we settled down and helped everyone colour in some posters of Fred’N’Friends.

That’s day three over with and we move on to our final day .. tomorrow {Saturday 13th Aug} we’ll be at Long Buckby between 10:30 – 11:15, Daventry between midday – 12:45 and finishing the tour in Brackley between 1:45 – 2:30. We look forward to seeing you,

With love,

Fred n Friends Corby Wednesday/Day One

What a busy day it’s been, Fred’s little legs have visited Burton Latimer, Kettering, Desborough and then finished off in Corby. It was great seeing all of you and we really enjoyed the colouring competitions and the book read was great fun as always, so thank you again for coming out to see us, I know Fred really enjoyed it.  We’ve dropped some prizes off at Connect FM so if you want to win some great prizes, including the full series of Fred’N’Friends books!

With love,

Fred n Friends  Thursday/Day Two

9:25: We started the morning at Abington and as we approached, we saw an eagerly awaiting swarm of children at the Abington library! We managed to get inside and set up, which mainly meant Fred having a bowl of water.  We then started the fun and games and Fred led the way with colouring in!

10:05: Making our way across to Weston Favell we were excited to continue on with our tour and meet more people, it was business as usual for Fred who enjoys living the busy life, being driven everywhere. We spent time meeting the children and their parents and there were lots of busy children all colouring away.

Midday: Wooten Fields was next and as there were so many of us, we went to the community centre close by, Fred didn’t mind so much because he always has plenty of room. We spent this lunchtime having questions from the children and everyone queued up to meet and stroke Fred.

13:15: – We moved on to Far Cotton where it was another full house, it was so nice to see everyone on such a lovely day all taking part in the fun and games we had going on. Just like all the other libraries, the children certainly do love colouring in. Fred had lots of little fans fussing over him and he’s certainly made some new friends today!

14:30:  We finished the day in Moulton and as the weather was so nice, we sat outside and read the book together. This was lovely seeing the children who are on their summer holidays, actually enjoying the summer sunshine whilst taking part and helping each other colour in. Fred loved being outside and like all other libraries we’ve visited … he has made so many friends!

With love,
