Man wanted in connection with attack on train manager

A train manager`s been assaulted by a man travelling from London Saint Pancras to Corby.

At about 9.30 am on 8 Aug, a man sat in first class on the train and was asked to upgrade his standard ticket or move carriages.

He refused and became abusive, he then spat in the train managers face and then hit him with a rolled up newspaper.

PC James Turnbull, investigating the incident said, “This was a vile and wholly unacceptable attack on someone who was simply doing their job. Rail staff should be able to carry out their duties without fear of violence or abuse.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 233 of 24/8.
