Butcher fined over unfit meat

A butcher has been fined £14,000 after being taken to court by Northamptonshire Trading Standards for selling meat unfit for human consumption.

Peter Salmons, who trades as The Meating Place in Billing Garden Village,  was also found to have falsely labelled other meat as British.

Salmons, who pleaded guilty, was fined a total of £14,000 plus costs of £2,099.02 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £120.
