A small section of Rothwell Road (A4300) is due to be closed to through traffic from Poppyfields (the junction just below the KGH Treatment Centre entrance) to Northfield Avenue (ie the railway bridge) from Monday 24th October to Friday 28th October for improvement work for Anglian Water.
Road diversions will be in place via Northfield Avenue, Rockingham Road and the A43 bypass to the A14 junction roundabout and Rothwell Road.
Pedestrian access will remain in place underneath the railway bridge.
The diversion will enable continued access to all KGH entrances including the Treatment Centre from the other direction (down the hill from the A14 junction).
Clearly the works will cause some traffic congestion and delays and patients and staff are asked to allow extra time for their journeys.
The works involve replacing drains and manhole covers on a section of Rothwell Road close to the railway bridge.
