A gross misconduct disciplinary hearing will be held by Northamptonshire Police at Force Headquarters today.
Constable PC 309 Antony Pettinger is the subject of the hearing.
The allegations are:
Between February 2015 and March 2016 PC Pettinger’s conduct breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of his relationship with a vulnerable female he met in a professional capacity.
Between 24th May 2015 and 22nd June 2015 PC Pettinger carried out searches and accessed confidential information relating to the female and another individual without authority and other than for a policing purpose.
Reasons the conduct if proved amounts to gross misconduct
a)The conduct is a serious abuse of PC Pettinger’s position as a police constable;
b)PC Pettinger’s conduct seriously discredits the Police;
c)PC Pettinger’s conduct has a tendency to fundamentally undermine trust and confidence in his position.
It is alleged that between February 2015 and March 2016 the officer concerned breached the standards of professional behaviour relating to:
– Honesty and integrity
– Discreditable conduct
– Authority, respect and courtesy
