Social workers at Northamptonshire County Council will be celebrated this week as part of World Social Work Day.
The annual event takes place today and is organised by the International Federation of Social Workers to celebrate social workers’ contribution to society.
Social workers in Northamptonshire currently support around 5,000 vulnerable children and 6,000 adults with additional care and support needs across the county.
On the day, the county council’s Social Work Academy, the University of Northampton and shared services partnership LGSS will be hosting a conference for social workers, where you will be able to interview a number of social workers currently supporting vulnerable children and adults with additional care and support needs in the county.
The conference will be an opportunity for Northamptonshire social workers to learn more about best practice in helping children affected by domestic violence, making the best use of technology, direct social work with adults within communities, and opportunities for career progression.
The conference will be held at Kings Park Conference Centre in Kings Park Road, Northampton.
