A 23-year-old man was stabbed as he walked home from a shop in Higham Ferrers on Wednesday, March 22.

The assault happened between 10pm and 10.30pm on the corner of Stimpson Avenue and Newman Street, when the victim was approached from behind by two unknown males.

He suffered a one centimetre wound to his right rib cage and superficial cuts to the knuckle area of his right hand. The victim was then wrestled to the floor before his head was then stamped on leaving a mark.

The offenders then fled the scene without stealing anything or making any further threats.

The offender with the knife was described as white, aged 16-19 and about 5ft 7in. He was wearing a black outer jacket and dark joggers.

The second suspect was white, aged 16-19 and 5ft 7in. He was wearing dark clothing.
