Investment in new development

More than £3.5 million pounds is set to be invested in and around the Northamptonshire villages of Overstone and Moulton thanks to an upcoming development by David Wilson Homes, The Avenue.

The funding, which totals £3,622,600, forms part of the planning agreement for the new development, located on The Avenue, and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents of the village.

Among the contributions is £2.5m towards the new A43 bypass, nearly £600,000 towards secondary education and £90,000 towards a community centre.

John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “Investing into local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development.

“As a five star housebuilder, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.

“As The Avenue begins to progress we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but also in terms of the jobs we have created for local people and the quality homes we are building.”

Specific contributions include:

·         £2.5 million for highway road improvements

·         £590,000 towards a new secondary school

·         £150,000 towards traffic calming

·         £150,000 towards sports pitch improvements and maintenance

·         £90,000 other community contributions

·         £18,400 towards fire and rescue

·         £124,200 towards health care

The Avenue, which consists of 200 new homes, is located on the outskirts of Overstone close to Moulton, will provide a range of two, three, four and five bedroom homes.

With great commuter links and sought after schooling options nearby, this is the perfect development to suit the needs of a range of buyers.

Homes are due to go on sale this summer with three show homes also scheduled to open.
