Joanna Danvers, Sports Development Officer for Northamptonshire Sport, said:

‘We are delighted to welcome all school, pupils, teachers, assistants and parents to this fantastic venue – Corby East Midlands International Pool. It is wonderful to see how the School Games programme has developed in Northamptonshire and we are looking forward to seeing how the teams do.’

Corby Borough Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said:

‘First of all congratulations to all of the teams that have qualified for this event, you should all be very proud of your achievement and no matter what the outcome of today you are all winners for getting this far.

‘We wish the swimmers, schools, parents and organisers a great day at Corby East Midlands International Pool and hope as well as enjoying the event, they get the chance to visit Corby’s Town Centre and surrounding area whilst in the Borough.’
