Man jailed for attempted knifepoint burglary

A man from Peterborough who threatened a woman with a knife in an attempted burglary has been jailed for eight years.

Alexander Keltie called at a property on Lincoln Road in May – When a woman in her 60s answered the door, he forced his way into the property and threatened her with a knife.

The woman fought back, scratched him across the face and managed to leave the property to raise the alarm.

Detective Constable Leigh Mann said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who bravely fought back against her attacker and in doing so secured forensic evidence. I hope the sentence handed to Keltie will help her to put the experience behind her.”
