A special service designed to give vulnerable people the independence to continue living in their own home is expanding into Peterborough.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service launched an enhanced version of the Home Fire Safety check across Cambridgeshire in June last year and the service will now extend to incorporate our city.
The idea of the new visit is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents living within their own homes and is a far more comprehensive service than the original Home Fire Safety Check.
It looks at a number of different areas ranging from fire safety to personal health and finances.
Anyone who knows of a loved one, friend or neighbour in the Peterborough area who would benefit from the service should fill out a short questionnaire on the CFRS website at www.cambsfire.gov.uk. Alternatively, they can call an automated message line on 0800 917 9994.
