Bridge over trouble journeys on A605

Councillors have agreed the construction contract to build a new crossing on the A605 at King’s Dyke between Whittlesey and Peterborough.

The new road will be half a mile long, over the railway line via a 105 foot long bridge with a separate cycle and footpath.

The current A605 carries over 12 thousand vehicles a day and is closed at the level crossing between eight and 25 minutes every hour due to trains.
