Elsewhere yesterday Kettering Town kicked off their Southern League Premier campaign with a 2-1 win at Slough Town – while AFC Rushden and Diamonds were 2-0 winners at home to Hanwell in the South-East division.

Corby Town picked up a thumping five-one win at home to Romulus in Northern Premier Division One South.
