A man who stole a bank card from a Peterborough home and used it for contactless purchases – has been caught on CCTV.

Scott Ellis broke into a flat on Mendip Grove via a kitchen window in February – stealing a bank card, jewellery, a bottle of whisky, perfume and aftershave.

He then went and used the card at three shops that evening, making contactless purchases totalling about £38.

He pleaded guilty at Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday and was jailed for 28 months for burglary and six months for fraud.
