Mayor not happy about funding freeze for Local Enterprise Partership

The Mayor of the combined authority for Peterborough and Cambridgeshire says the area is suffering reputational damage after it was revealed the Government is withholding funding for the county’s Local Enterprise Partnership.

James Palmer says he`s greatly concerned that more than 37 million pounds earmarked for  the LEP which drives wealth and jobs creation locally was being frozen.

Mister Palmer accused the organisation of no longer fulfilling its purpose to support local businesses and is calling on it to form a single umbrella with the Combined Authority.
