Northamptonshire County Council’s meeting today to discuss next years budget.
On the agenda are proposals for smaller local libraries to be run by community groups and businesses to save money.
The idea would go out to public consultation before any final decision’s made.
Councillors will also discuss how transport and highways can be included in savings which could trim 2 and a half million pounds off the budget.
Options include removing subsidies, reducing gritting and working on the maintenance budget.
