Northamptonshire residents are being urged to take part in the county council’s consultation on the future of libraries.
The local authority says its needs to save 10 million pounds and has put forward three options.
Option one offers 21 smaller libraries to community groups, businesses or organisations, to be run as community-managed libraries.
Under this option, eight larger libraries would be retained and seven medium-sized libraries would continue under direct county council management.
Option two would see eight large and seven medium libraries retained and run directly by the county council.
These 15 libraries would be developed as community hubs, but other smaller libraries would be closed.
Under option three, there would be eight large libraries run by the county council and these would be developed as community hubs, with other smaller libraries closed.
