Get ready to go back in time in Wellingborough and immerse yourself in the Medieval Festival!

Here at Connect FM, we’re very excited because Team Connect are going to be there…with a fantastic archery competition!

Come and find us in Croyland Gardens and every kid who enters over the weekend will be entered on the table. The top 2 archers in each age group will win a fantastic prize! How exciting is that? The competition is open to children under 14 and is FREE! It’s just part of the fantastic activities in the town over the weekend.

Knights and musicians, archers and jesters will fill the streets and set up camp in Croyland Gardens, as life in the Middle Ages will be recreated.

The festival is a magical medieval experience where you can listen to wonderful music played by the Medieval music band,  join in the ferret racing, the falconry display or the archery, watch magicians perform their tricks and learn new skills or brush up on old ones at the Circus Workshop.

There are all sorts of characters who’ll be wandering around the town! You might bump into a collection of colourful characters from the distant past, like the Barber Surgeon or the Jester!

There are two horses with knights in armour at the Tithe Barn lawn. A quick walk and you are at Croyland Gardens, where re-enactors live in authentic medieval encampments for the whole weekend and would like nothing more than to chat to you about life in medieval times. Nip across to The Museum where children can dress up in medieval costume and joust on hobby horses. There is also medieval dancing for all!

Saturday morning visit the Medieval Fayre at All Hallows Church; refreshments are served in the Church Hall. Sunday brings the grand Medieval Service to All Hallows with opportunities to look around the Medieval Church.

If you’re looking to take a little break with a difference, pop into the Tithe Barn on Saturday and you will be at the Craft and Vintage Fayre where you can browse amongst stalls selling a wonderful selection of hand crafted items by talented local crafters and some vintage accessories from days gone by.

Whether this is the first time that you are visiting or, like many, are returning for another year, we look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Festival.

The event is organised by Discover Wellingborough and partly funded by the Northampton Community Foundation (NCF) through its First For Wellbeing fund.
