A local MP is vowing to continue to press for answers over major job losses at Oundle boat firm Fairline.
Tom Pursglove, who represents Corby and East Northamptonshire where the firm also has a base, says all his requests for information have gone unanswered.
He says his offers to meet the new management team, put in charge following the recent takeover, have also been ignored.
In a statement to Connect FM, Mr Pursglove added:
Fairline are a major local employer and this announcement will be of great concern to local families.
In the run up to Christmas, it is imperative that those employees affected are fully aware of the situation, and it also important to get all parties around the table to discuss how we can help these workers and their families at this difficult time, and also to see if there is anything that can be done to help secure Fairline’s future.
I have again contacted senior executives at Fairline and stressed both the importance and urgency of a meeting with them and I do hope they accept my offer to meet with them later this week, at their convenience.
